Making a difference
It is now August of 2023; let’s look at the past year and see all God has done. At the beginning of the 2022/2023 school year, 3 of our previous Good News Clubs started. Between November and May, four new Good News Clubs began; all seven groups totaled 158 children.
The salvation message is shared weekly. As a result of each lesson, the children received a greater depth of knowledge of what it means to live a Christ-centered life. We also offered each one the opportunity to commit to Christ. We rejoice in the great privilege of leading 22 children to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
What is a Good News Club?
A Good News Club is a high-powered 90-minute program for children ages four through 13 that inspires and challenges them to good citizenship, high moral values, obedience to those in authority and other positive behaviors.
The program is built around biblical and educational principles and includes an exciting visualized Bible lesson, songs, Scripture memory, a missions story and review games. Dynamic methods of teaching are used that make learning fun!
Each club includes a clear presentation of the Gospel and an opportunity for children to trust Jesus as Savior. Every club also includes strong discipleship training to build character and strengthen moral and spiritual growth. All children are encouraged to attend a local church.
Can we teach it?
Yes! On June 11, 2001 the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in Good News Club v. Milford Central School District that Good News Clubs can meet in public schools in the United States after school hours on the same terms as other community groups. This historic decision opened the doors of our public schools as a new mission field to teach God’s Word to thousands of children who would never hear about Jesus. What an opportunity! After School Good News Clubs meet once a week during the school year for 90 minutes. Children attend Good News Club only with their parents’ permission.VOLUNTEER
